    Bevo's New Jump Map

Unnamed as of yet and still early early in the design phase. This one is going to be a lot prettier, a lot more polished, and a LOT harder. I'm thinking juuusssst hard enough that I can barely do it. This would put it maybe ahead of tholos or pagoda in terms of difficulty. I want to focus on execution rather than precision, which IMO makes it fun instead of frustrating.

    Things I'm looking for:

Testers (though this one might be tough... the jumps are going to be tough)
    Ideas for Jumps
    Ideas for Design
    Ideas for Theme
Ideas for Textures, following design or theme
Ideas for the name, following the theme
    Ideas period

Feel free to give any input you'd like. I'm thinking of making something "natural" right now but it might fall through given the lack of natural type textures. We'll see, I guess.

PS. This is souper seekrit. Try not to mention this outside of the forums - I don't want to go public with anything until it's nearing/at completion.

Mario is a neat idea and all, but I think this is more appropriate:

I actually did consider mario and/or other sidescrollers, but it would be too hard to make any sort of challenging jump while resembling the game in question.

    Also, thanks RGK.

    Re:Bevo's New Jump Map

I've got about 6 concept jumps done so far, and 1 or 2 more on a piece of paper. I'm kind of running out of ideas of jumps. They should be hard, but also fun at the same time. I won't be using any buttons or making you turn any hard corners or any of that bullshit. I think longer jumps are more fun, but it definitely shouldn't be over the top.

If you guys have any ideas, I'm all ears. For reference, they should be as hard/harder than jumps you'd find on tholos or pagoda.

How bout a jump styled like #7, I think it was, on RJ Rckteer? A wall jump transition into jumps over water onto several small-ish platforms. Or you could use a similar jump to the expert version of Adventure, where you start on level ground and work your way up and horizontally at the same time (platform-touching-goes-back-to-start optional).
    Capio omne cum grano salis.

I've got about 10 concept jumps done now, and I'm still looking for another 5 or so before I put them all together and release an alpha. Again any sort of ideas are appreciated.

IE: multirocket into a long wall climb, speed pogo to a multirocket, blah blah

    oopdate

I've got a working alpha currently, but I have to scrap a jump for stress reasons. I'm going to do some preliminary lighting so ya'll don't have to deal with fullbright. Expect a working version sometime tonight or tomorrow night.

Though being a preliminary alpha, my geometry is kind of wonky and textures are all dev. The jumps will remain all somewhat similar, edited for difficulty where I see necessary. I'm giving a copy to weedskill tomorrow so he can put it up on his server where I'll watch on and make changes as needed.

Feel free to give it a go if you so desire. The difficulty is up there.
